Triad Experience

1) I was not allowed to take pictures in the museum.

2) I chose to go to the Salem Witch Museum because I was interested in the history of the Witch Trials in Salem in the 1600's.

3) We texted each other but no day worked that we would all be able to go so we went separately.

4) What started the Salem Witch Trials?
How long did the trials last?
Where particular in Salem did the witch trials take place?
How many people died in jail that were accused of being witches?
What were witch trials like in Europe?

5)  For my experience, I went to the Salem Witch Museum. It was nice because it was free for Salem State students. I enjoyed my experience however was easily frightened so sometimes I wouldn’t look fully at the presentation but I listened. The experience was interesting because I never realizes that it was young girls who started the witch trials. The tour guide was interactive too and explained the presneantion to us. The presentation was eerie to show the importance and tragedy of the trials. It really made you think more that it was a scary thing that happened in the 15th century in Salem. I enjoyed my experience, they also had voiceovers from models in the presentation so it sounded especially realistic.
The experience at the museum itself was good as well. The tour guide was very expressive and the exhibits were interactive. There was one exhibit that explained how a pagan overtime became accused of being a witch. Another exhibit explained the religion of Wicca which sounded nothing like witchcraft. They explained how people of Wicca are normal people, where normal clothes and live in normal areas, they just have a more ancient religion. It’s hard to see how something as harmless as Wicca could be identified as evil and seen as witchcraft or the work of the devil.

6) This trip contributed to my sense of place because I realized that there was a lot that went on in the town and land I live in today. There was tragedy with the witch trials that went on centers ago where I live today.

7) Why would young girls want to cause such trouble?
Did the puritans think what they were doing to the accused was inhumane
How did the modern day stereotypical witch evolve?
How could a good woman or pagan suddenly become known as an evil figure who asccosiated with the devil?

8) I chose the topic of the Salem Witch Trials for my topic.

9) I read the rubric.
